“Coming to ARC & choosing recovery was the best choice that I have ever made. This place gave me the accountability and structure I needed while figuring out who I was as a person and learning how to live my life clean.”
My date of intake was November 10th 2016. I’ve been in recovery for 7 months as of today. My treatment goals have Phase 1 were to remain clean and sober, maintain a stable job, and go to my groups and meetings. I am meeting my goals by staying focused, keeping a positive mindset, and keeping all negativity out of my life. The skills I use to avoid using are talking to friends and praying. My future goals are to get a car, save money, and continue staying focused. In the past 2 months I’ve had one high-risk situation. I was working at Kroger and they had to let me go because of my background. Although I was upfront with them about my past they still hired me with the pending outcome of my background check. I was frustrated, but I did not give up or use. I felt that God had something better planned, which He did. Three days later I got a job working for Landmark Construction. Some skills I have used to avoid high-risk situations and people are praying and letting go of control. High-risk emotions I have identified are anger and depression. My accomplishments have been staying clean and completing my requirements for ARC.

My date of intake is 2/22/17. I have been in recovery for 35 days, and I am meeting my treatment goals by staying clean and working all the time. I am in Phase 1 and want to learn how to manage my money better and how to not lose my temper, and using not only hurts me, but it hurts my family. I have learned to ask for help when I feel like using. High-risk situations are old friend that are still active users and argumentative situations. I need to stay away from old friends and old hang outs. High-risk emotions for me are sadness, hurt, and anger. Since being at ARC, I have accomplished finding a job, and bettering my relationship with my wife and family. I want to thank ARC staff for giving me a chance when I was at last chance for freedom. I also want to thank the people here for helping me see that it’s not as bad as it seems, and that I am not alone through all of this.

My date of intake was November 9th, 2016. I have been in recovery for over 5 years. I am meeting my treatment goals by staying sober, getting closer to my sponsor, and keeping a responsible work ethic and college schedule. My goals for the next phase are to save as much money as possible to get my license back and buy a laptop computer for my college classes. Also, to get a tutor to help me with my mathematical modeling class. Some skills I have learned to help me avoid substances are staying away from old using buddies, to not go where drugs and alcohol are available, and when I am tempted to call my sponsor or find a meeting. Going back to my hometown or around people that are using drugs or drinking are high-risk situations that I should avoid. The skills I have learned to avoid high-risk situations and people are to keep a detailed schedule, know where I am going and who I am going to be around, and to make a conscious effort to avoid certain people and places. My high-risk emotions I have identified are boredom, anger, stress, frustration, and apathy. I have accomplished so many great things while enrolled at ARC. I have prospered at my job, in college, and reconnected with my family and daughter. I have grown more responsible and disciplined. I speak only great things about ARC to my employer and my friends and family. I am so blessed to be involved in such an awesome program with wonderful counselors, mentors, and directors.

My name is Justin and my date of intake is September 8th, 2016. I have been clean for 7 and a half months. I am meeting my treatment goals by attending my classes, staying clean, and working my steps of the program. My goals for the next phase is to complete steps 4, 5, and 6 of the 12th step program so that I can phase up on time. I would also like to file bankruptcy at some time before completing this program. I have learned to stay busy and communicate with positive people in order to avoid substance abuse. I have found that staying in touch with old friends can be a high-risk situation for me. I have learned to use the “pause” technique when dealing with anger. This will help me from using. I have identified boredom and stress as high-risk emotions. Since being at ARC, I have accomplished being clean for 224 days, kept full time employment, and recently purchased a new car. Thank you to everyone here at ARC for helping me accomplish all of this.

Dear ARC,
My date of intake is August 25th, 2016. I have been in recovery for almost two years now. I am meeting my goals by helping others and going to my classes and meetings. I have new goals ahead of me like getting my license back and finish steps 6-10 with my sponsor. I have learned to talk to my sponsor and my brothers here at ARC if I feel like using. I have identified that my friends that are still in active addiction and places I used at are high-risk and not good for me. So, I need to stay away from them. I have learned to not fantasize on old use. I have noticed that when I get bored and lonely I feel the old me coming back. I try to stay busy a lot. I have got a better relationship with my kids and myself since I have been at ARC. I just want to say thank you to the staff for the help, and also I want to thank all you guys here for helping me get this far. Believe it or not everybody here helps one another in some way, and it is a really great thing to see.
