Michelle is a woman in long-term recovery since 8/8/17. Her passion and purpose lies in helping others find freedom from their addictions and co-occurring challenges with the grace that was shown to her in recovery. She is a state certified CPS-AD (Certified Peer Specialist of Addictive Disease), CPS-MH (Certified Peer Specialist of Adult Mental Health), a certified Forensic Peer Mentor (specializing in re-entry from the criminal justice system), and a WHWC (Whole Health & Wellness Coach). She graduated in May 2021 with an Associate’s Degree in Social Work (Social Work Assistant), and that is just the beginning of her journey to becoming a Master level social worker. She is also currently working on a Certified Addiction Counselor credential. Michelle has been an active member of the Athens recovery community and currently serves on the board of a local Recovery Community Organization. She loves her job working with the men and women at ARC and is eternally grateful for the opportunities her recovery and career afford her. When she is not at work or school, she can be found enjoying her family, friends, and puppies!
