Lora Smith serves as an Intake Counselor at Acceptance Recovery Center. She is often the first point of contact with individuals and family/support persons seeking information on entering the program. She is also responsible for the screening and admission of incoming residents.
Lora started her journey in receiving her Associate Degree at Athens Technical College in the Spring of 2017. It was after she spent two internships at Acceptance Recovery center when she really found the love of working with people in recovery. She graduated in May of 2021 with an Associates Degree of Applied Science (Social Work Assistant) and Technical College Certificate in Addictions Theories and Treatments and her title as Addictions Specialist.
Lora knew from a young age that she wanted to help others and work in the Recovery field some day. After being surrounded by Addiction her entire life she finally decided to go to school and work on getting a degree in Social Work to help others affected by and or in active Addiction. She loves working at ARC and is forever grateful for the opportunities here. When she is not at work she enjoys the company of her friends, family and fur babies.
