Family Preservation Program: Meet Shaboka

In the heart of Shaboka’s recovery journey, there stands a pillar of unwavering support, his family. While residing a couple of hours away, Shaboka’s loved ones have been a constant source of strength, hope, and encouragement, playing an integral role in his path to recovery.

His family, consisting of a loving mother, two devoted sisters, caring cousins, a fiance, and a young daughter, have demonstrated exceptional support. Shaboka emphasizes, “everybody respects my recovery,” highlighting the collective commitment to his well-being and sobriety.

For Shaboka, the quality time spent outside the recovery program with family and friends holds immense significance. These moments are cherished, bringing smiles and an overall sense of happiness to him and his fellow residents at Acceptance Recovery Center.

Shaboka extends his heartfelt appreciation to ARC for fostering the reconnection between him and his family. Through ARC’s support, Shaboka and other individuals he has encountered on his journey were granted the opportunity to venture out for the day and share precious moments with their loved ones.

This invaluable support from ARC enabled Shaboka to rebuild his life. It assisted him in reentering the workforce, regaining his driver’s license, rekindling his relationship with his beloved daughter, and strengthening the bonds with his family. He further elaborates, “I was able to meet a whole network of sober people that led me in a great direction.”

While Shaboka is now living the fulfilling life he had always aspired to achieve, he carries a heartfelt wish. He hopes that ARC can expand its reach by providing a new family residence property. Such an endeavor would empower more families to embark on their recovery journeys together, strengthening bonds, and creating a brighter future for all.

Shaboka’s story is a testament to the transformative power of family support and the positive impact that Acceptance Recovery Center continues to have on individuals seeking recovery. Together, we are building a community where hope, resilience, and family thrive.
