Athens, GA – December 11, 2015: – Acceptance Recovery Center (ARC) held a Meet & Greet at Catch 22. The private event was the first meeting for the organization. In attendance were the Founder and Director, Brandy W. Anderson, BA, PP, the president of the Board, Carly Redding, Ph.D., the board members, and approximately 20 members of the Athens and north Georgia community. ARC presented their model to provide education, shelter and support in a structured transitional therapeutic community for the homeless and addicted populations; empowering them to become productive members of society.

Brandy W. Anderson, herself a product of the faltering prison system, engaged the audience with an innovative organizational structure, offering its residents a program infused with evidence based practices. This therapy will give ARC residents practical life skills and help them to emotionally participate in life. Anderson emphasized, “What sets ARC aside from other recovery residences is the level of structure and accountability the residents are required to abide by to participate in the program. They will be required to not only attend local community support groups, but will all be delivered evidence based treatment such as MRT, Prime Solutions, and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions. The same curriculum that the Accountability Courts offer their participants. We are not targeting merely a change of behavior, we will be working with our residents to help them change the way that they think so that they can change their behaviors and thus reduce the incarceration and recidivism rate in Georgia. ”

Acceptance Recovery Center anticipates opening their doors off Board Street, near St. Mary’s Hospital in January 2016.
