There is only one absolute in life and that is everything changes. With March upon us, #teamARC began pondering the way changes happen in the revolution of recovery for a person who suffers with long term addiction. As with the blowing of the March winds, the journey of recovery can be both beautiful and blistering. To honor March as Women’s History Month as well as create a benefit dinner for our Women’s Center opening soon, we conceptualized “Winds of Change – A Symposium for Women in Recovery.” This month’s newsletter will be dedicated to women who are struggling with addiction and to our “Winds of Change” event.
It is ARC’s intention for “Winds of Change” to be a platform to share our hope and perseverance to continue to serve indigent and displaced populations and to raise funds to open our Women’s Center in Athens, GA this year.
In the last year since ARC opened in January 2016, our exponential growth from 14 to 44 beds is a significant example of change. As the program has grown, the core concept has remained the same, but we have modified our approaches to be able to manage growth and ensure the highest level of service and success. Adaptability is one key component of change and we have successfully adapted to each individual situation. We are incredibly excited to be opening a long term treatment program for women. We will use the same multi-prong treatment plan for the Women’s Program that we have in place for our Men’s Program.
Our “Winds of Change” event will be a three part affair filled with a gourmet 3-course meal, three women speakers in recovery, and the lovely melodies of Honeychild. The Foundry is hosting us in their beautiful concert hall on Saturday, March 11. The doors will open at 6:00 PM and dinner begins at 7:00 PM. The Foundry will provide bar service and two types of tickets are available. A $35 ticket will buy dinner, the speaker event, and the Honeychild concert. The $15 ticket is a balcony ticket and includes the speaker event and concert. Both ticket purchases will also include a raffle ticket. We will include the ticket link in this newsletter.
ARC has partnered with several awesome local businesses to present “Winds of Change.” Addiction is a family illness and we must come together as a community to support the recovery and healing of this deadly disease. Our Athens community and Gainesville friends have offered priceless support. Please join us at the Foundry for the poignant, beautiful and sometimes blistering “Winds of Change.”
Please visit our sponsors here. These companies provided funds and/or items for “Winds of Change.” ARC is successful due to the support of our individual and corporate sponsors. We are grateful for your support and belief in our mission.
