Hello Friends and Family,

Nothing makes me prouder than to be with others as their energy, thinking, and behaviors shift from that of personal trauma to that of new beginnings through recovery. As 2018 came to an end, Acceptance Recovery Center completed its third year of service and celebrated 20 graduates who successfully completed their recovery goals after 12 months of intensive work on their part and ours. Our residents have steady employment, remain free from substance use, and can be reunited with and help support their families. See some our favorite success stories below:

A resident’s grandmother called to say, “ARC has done miracles with that boy. His attitude and way of thinking has returned to the person he was before he ever had a problem. It means so much to our family to see him turn around.”

An Acceptance Recovery Center graduate who is completing community service hours at ARC at a time when we need extra hands said, “ARC helped me to turn my life around so much that I just couldn’t think of a better place to give back to the community. And I also wanted to make sure this place stays a part of my life.”

A former resident was experiencing homelessness before he entered ARC. After completing the program, he has held a steady job for almost two years, secured his own apartment, and just recently celebrated two years in recovery!

Stories like these are made possible by support from people like you! For 2019, we hope to increase the success of our men’s program by adding two offsite Alumni units, thus increasing our capacity to serve 68 men. In addition, we are continuing to work diligently to finalize the perfect location to open our first women’s center. We are eager to expand our services to the community, so please stay tuned for future updates on ARC’s programs.

Thanks for all you have done to support ARC and myself as we have planted our roots in the community and blossomed into a meaningful organization. Our success would not be possible without your support. I hope you will continue serve alongside us in our journey to save lives and restore families.

May 2019 be full of blessings for us all!

    Respectfully,

Brandy Witte Anderson, BA, NCACI, CAC II

Athens MLK Day of Service is an annual celebration in support of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday and commitment to service.

In 1994, Congress made the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday an official day of service. Athens, Georgia is one of the thousands of cities across the United States that decided to make this “A Day On and Not a Day Off.”

We are currently in need of pine straw, much, wood chips and a tiller. If you would like to join us, please register at: https://uga.givepulse.com/group/events/118913
