ARC’s summer activities are focused on creating a positive fellowship between the community along with the brotherhood at ARC. Acceptance Recovery Center will be hosting a 4th of July Cookout and Softball Bash at Bishop Park; the event will begin at 11:00 AM and will end at 6:00 PM. Please join us in conversing over our freedoms along with cheering on the teams competing in the ARC’s July 4th Bracket Bash.

ARC will be hosting the 2nd Annual Addiction Awareness Benefit Dinner on September 3, 2017. Please check your email for the sponsorship or individual ticket sale instructions or contact ARC for more information about how to attend this honorary event. This fundraising opportunity will honor those who are actively engaging in recovery, as well as memorializing the men and women who have lost their battle through addiction.

Without the communities love and support, we would not be able to succeed in meeting our mission of recovery. Please join us to celebrate recovery and all of the men who are battling their addiction.

With the expansion of ARC, we have been able to add some new faces to our team. We would like to welcome the newest member of #teamARC:

Matthew Groover a part-time Case Manager for Acceptance Recovery Center; he is a 41 year-old who is also in recovery from addiction.

Matthew began his recovery on June 19, 2009. Matthew is an active participant in the recovery community, as well as the whole community of Northeast Georgia. Matthew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Criminal Justice in December of 2016 from Ashford University.

Matthew is pursuing several career paths in recovery oriented areas such as: Case Management, Substance Abuse Technician, and a Counselor for Hall County which will help him to better serve the clients he interacts with. Matthew has a heart for the addict who still suffers and has a strong desire to see others get from where he has been to where he is at.

Matt is currently working to achieve his CACII, NACACI, CARES certification and will be chasing his Master’s Degree with the same determination as he has everything else in his recovery; upon completion Matthew will become an LPC.

Utilizing these various tools along with the skills Matthew has learned in his personal recovery, Matthew is a resource for other struggling addicts to utilize, which is his strongest desire.

Laarni McCarver is a Residential Assistant for Acceptance Recovery Center. She assists in the daily day to day tasks on property as well as assists the residents with any issues that arise. Laarni thrives on motivating the residents to become motivated themselves.

Molly has been in recovery since December of 2014 and has treated her addiction, as both a step into bettering herself and becoming both a loving mother and a devoted fiancé.

Kara Perry is currently the Communications Assistant for Acceptance Recovery Center. She recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Delivery and Administration with a minor in Sociology at The University of North Georgia.

Kara was given the opportunity to do her final internship at ARC. She immediately fell in love with the staff and the organization’s mission. After a few months of working with ARC as the Office Manager, she found that her passion was in the event planning and community outreach side of ARC. She possesses a strong passion for helping others, is detail-oriented, and enjoys focusing on the event planning and community events that will contribute to ARC’s mission.

    Congratulation’s Alex, Ben and Chris!

ARC’s 2nd Graduation celebrated the journey of three men’s lives as they found recovery from active addiction. All three of which began consuming substances in their early teenage years with use continued for 9-32 years each.

These three men represent hope, courage, hard work and determination. They have defied odds and are living proof that miracles do happen. #teamARC is so proud of you all.
