Parke L. Guthner is a retired Navy Supply Corps Officer, having served twenty-six years and retired as a CAPTAIN in 2007. He subsequently worked as a member of the U. S. Joint Staff as a civilian for ten years. After retiring from that position, he and his wife, Regina, relocated back to Athens, GA. An alcoholic, he has been in recovery for three years. He now works as the Residential Manager at Twin Lakes Recovery Center in Monroe, GA and volunteers with the Western Judicial Circuit Veterans Court in Athens. He is an alumnus of Twin Lakes, Acceptance Recovery Center and the Western Judicial Circuit Veterans Court programs and is grateful to all three for helping to save his life.
