A Letter of Gratitude from a COVID 19 Emergency Relief Fund Recipient
This courageous COVID 19 Emergency Relief Fund recipient entered our program on December 4, 2019. She had never previously had the opportunity to engage in any type of recovery program. Upon entry to our program, she was fearful of success and of her own ability to change. All she knew was that she wanted the opportunity to be a part of her children’s lives, to become self-sufficient and to ultimately be able to purchase her own vehicle one day.
She secured employment within 10 days of her entry into the program and began her recovery journey. She was grateful for the employment but it left her discouraged as she was struggling with being able to save money with low hours and pay. The financial burden began to weigh heavily on her heart and caused tremendous discouragement. She stated, “While I was grateful for my job, I was no longer happy and I was unable to save money to achieve my ultimate goal of purchasing a vehicle.” When the COVID pandemic hit, financial worry began to sink in and the emotional turmoil was overbearing.
When #teamARC approached her about receiving indigent funds she stated, “This was all it took to push myself to apply for a different job with better hours and higher pay. I know that I am hardworking and capable but I was afraid of getting behind on my financial responsibilities. Receiving these funds gave me the push I needed to seek out better opportunities for employment.” Today this courageous woman has secured a new job with better pay and is finally able to start saving $50 a week for her vehicle as well as paying her other financial responsibilities. She stated to the team that, “My car doesn’t seem like a dream anymore but a real attainable goal. ARC taught me that change is a must and growth is how we keep our recovery.”
This is a miracle in action, one of many. Thank you to all that has supported us so that we can support others. This is PROOF that #WeDoRecover!
A message from our Founder & CEO:
